2024 Study Tour of Imperial Cities in Central Europe

Come and see Vienna, Prague, and Budapest: cities of Habsburg glory and Jewish memory, where Sigmund Freud, Theodor Herzl, Franz Kafka, Gustav Mahler, and many others lived and worked. This tour will visit beautiful synagogues, unrivaled museums, and landmarks of Jewish religious life and secular genius. You will have the chance to explore the rich history of Austria, Hungary, and the Czech lands. You will also confront the sad history of the Holocaust with visits to major memorials such as Theresienstadt, the Shoe Memorial in Budapest, and the Simon Wiesenthal Institute in Vienna.

The tour will be chaired by Irene Pletka, vice-chair of the YIVO Board of Directors.
