A recent triumph has been the launch of the YIVO Cernia Slovin Online Museum, an achievement that places YIVO in the vanguard of cultural studies. YIVO is striving to attract younger audiences, many of whom unfortunately know little about the Holocaust. I am proud that we are using cutting-edge technologies, including video and animation, to bring Eastern European Jewish history to life. Our greatest resource is an archive with over 23 million items. Through the YIVO Cernia Slovin Online Museum, people are learning about Beba Epstein’s girlhood in Poland before World War II. In addition, YIVO is working with national and international institutions on Holocaust education, and partnered with the U.N. on a recent event.
