Teaching Assistant, Max Weinreich Center for Advanced Jewish Studies

The YIVO Institute for Jewish Research, a growing educational and cultural organization with the world’s foremost archives and library devoted to the history and culture of East European Jewry, seeks teaching assistants to join our education division, also known as the Max Weinreich Center for Advanced Jewish Studies, to provide administrative and logistical support for the Winter and Spring 2025 terms.

The job begins in January and ends in early June, with possible continuation in the fall based on availability. Hours will vary based on the class schedule for the Winter and Spring 2025 terms. Availability on Sundays and weekday evenings (Eastern Time) will be preferred. For college and graduate students applying to this role, efforts will be made to accommodate the teaching assistant’s academic and other commitments when determining the teaching assistant’s weekly hours.

Both remote and in-person candidates will be considered; preference may be given to candidates who can work in person at YIVO’s office in New York City.
