Beginner II Yiddish (Intersession)

This is a live, online course held weekly on Zoom. Enrollment will be capped at about 15 students. All course details (Zoom link, syllabus, handouts, assignments, etc.) will be posted to Canvas. Students will be granted access to the class on Canvas after registering for the class here on the YIVO website. This class will be conducted in Yiddish and English.

This course is appropriate for those who have completed Beginner II Yiddish (or equivalent coursework) and would like a review before enrolling in Beginner III Yiddish.

Rose Mintzer-Sweeney was born and raised in New York City and studied Yiddish through the Yiddish Book Center, the YIVO Summer Program, Yale, and the Paris Yiddish Center. She holds degrees in linguistics from Yale and the University of Edinburgh, and she currently lives in Berlin, where she teaches through the public Volkshochschule.
